Free public forum with local candidates in the November State Election about better transport across Box Hill and beyond.

Discussing transport issues with major party candidates

The Metropolitan Transport Forum, in association with the Eastern Region Group of Councils, presented this community forum on transport issues in the State Electorate of Box Hill and surrounding areas, hosted by Whitehorse City Council.

Discussion topics included:
Box Hill to Hawthorn Strategic Cycling Corridor
Making the bus network ‘simpler, faster and more reliable’
Suburban Rail Loop.
Plus the transport suggestions in the Eastern Region Group advocacy

The forum included a Q&A session with questions from the live audience.

Professor Graham Currie from Monash University chaired the forum, which provided a respectful and orderly setting for discussion with confirmed speakers from Labor, the Greens and the Liberals.

The speakers were Paul Hamer MLA, Labor; Aaron Qin, Greens; and Sally Houguet, Liberals.

Each speaker outlined their plans for better transport in Box Hill and beyond. The event was strictly chaired to give speakers equal time, and audience members were able to ask short questions and hear responses from the speakers.
