Discussion about transport issues with major party candidates

Metropolitan Transport Forum presented this community forum on transport issues in the State Electorate of Melton and surrounding areas, hosted by Melton City Council.

Discussion topics included:
Electrification of the Melton Line
Roads
Additional Train Stations – Mt Atkinson, Thornhill Park and Calder Park
Active Transport
Bus network & public transport in general.

There was a Q&A session with questions from the live audience.

ABC journalist Margaret Paul chaired the forum with Broden Borg, Labor candidate for Melton; David Ettershank MLC, Legalise Cannabis and current MLC for Western Metropolitan Region; Dr Joe Garra, The West Party candidate for Western Metropolitan Region; Matthew Katselis, One Nation candidate for Melton; and Veronika Levchenkova, Greens candidate for Melton.

Each speaker outlined their plans for better transport in Melton and beyond. The event was strictly chaired to give speakers equal time. Audience members were able to ask short questions and heard responses from the speakers.
